Catch II is a continuation of the project CATCH: Creative Approach To Combating Homelessness. The issue of homelessness is a key issue in respect of the EU strategy to combat poverty and social exclusion. Homeless people suffer from exclusion in many different areas, such as housing, health, employment social and cultural life etc. Policy makers often do not recognise this complexity and develop policies that are ineffective. Catch Phase II is addressing three different themes within the complex of homelessness for further analysis:
Two of the three themes have been addressed during seminars in Barcelona (reintegration in the labour market), Bologna (mental health strategies) and the third, (services for homeless women) will be in addressed in Vienna. Creative and innovative approaches/examples from the partners have been and will be identified and analysed with the objective to influence the National Action Plans (NAPincl.) in the partner countries and to produce recommendations to policy makers on homelessness and social inclusion. The focus will also be on the transferability of the key findings and examples. The final conference will be held in Malmö in June 2006 followed by a final project report. At the meeting in Malmö key findings from the three thematic conferences will be presented as well as recommendations to the NAPs and to policy makers. |
