Final conference for Catch, 29-30 June 2006
The final conference for the project Catch was held in Malmö, Sweden in June 2006. The aim of the conference was to conclude the key findings of the three previous thematic conferences as well as to facilitate the evaluation and analyse the dissemination process and the recommendations to NAPs inclusion.
Many partners and visitors attended the seminar and took part in workshops and seminars, the two days were highly appreciated. The local politician Eva Sjöstedt opened the first day and the following day the Swedish Minister of Health and Welfare, Morgan Johansson discussed the problems of homelessness in a welfare society and answered questions.
A group of leading researchers within the field of gender oriented homelessness discussed Catch’ key findings on the third thematic area; homelessness and services for women. The researchers were pleased with the results of Catch and that the aspect of gender were one of the three focus areas of Catch. How to influence the National Action Plan for social inclusion was discussed by a panel of European and national NGOs together with the partners in the project. The conference ended with much refreshing workshops, one role-play and one statue theatre workshop. The glorious weather showed Malmö from its best side and offered sightseeing and strolling in between the activities.
